To all our lovely customers, we wanted to inform you that our much-adored womenswear boutique, Martha V, will change ownership on the 2nd January 2020, having been acquired by local businesswoman Lara Kinnett.
Lara has been the face of Newmarket’s bridal store Lara B for over 14 years, and is a great friend of the store. She will take the lead from the New Year whilst our current owner and namesake Martha V Fraser will move on to enjoy a well deserved retirement.
Looking forward to being able to enjoy time with her husband, Ian, Martha said: “I’ve been overwhelmed with the loyalty of all our customers from day one. I’ve made lots of friends and acquaintances since opening Martha V, and it’ll be those that I’ll miss most alongside the girls, who without them I would never have got the business to where it is today.
“My girls have been unbelievable, I’d like to thank them for everything they’ve done. They really are more like family than staff I can’t thank them enough. It’s been an amazing ten years, and I was so proud to have been able to celebrate with the girls and many of our customers at our 10th anniversary party this year. That was a very special night and a standout moment for me.
“The relationships we have built with our suppliers over the last 10 years has greatly influenced the success of Martha V and I am sure that Lara will continue to benefit from their support.
“Whilst I will be enjoying my retirement, I am sure that I’ll still see many of you – especially in Waitrose!” she laughed.
New owner Lara Kinnett is extremely proud to be continuing the great reputation Martha has built up, with the team and many of the suppliers staying the same. Lara says: “The work ethics of Martha V are the same as ours at Lara B, which is to offer a great product with excellent customer service. We are always striving for excellence and going above and beyond.
“I am privileged to be able to carry the Martha V success on and with its current staff. They know everything there is to know about running the shop floor and assisting their loyal customers” Lara will add her own twist to Martha V bringing a taste of Lara B Couture to the boutique, introducing bespoke elements and an Atelier service to the ranges currently available to Martha V customers. She will also continue to work hard at growing the Lara B Couture brand at her current premises on Rous Rd.
Lara adds: “I look forward to continuing the success of Martha V, and cementing its future in Newmarket for the next 10 years and beyond.”
Lara and Martha have had great fun together selecting the Spring/Summer styles for 2020 and going forward Martha will be assisting Lara with the Autumn/Winter 2020 style selection.
